Following Lisa's exercise of writing to the first 10 songs on random in my playlist (except I chose to write in poetic phrase), I have come up with this.

Angels Fall First-Nightwish

Sitting here in the silence
Contemplating time past
Deep in inconsolable memory
Your memory skitters across
The surface of my mind
Dancing and playing
As though you never knew what worry was
And there, in the depths
I was with you at last
Playing, jumping as we let our hearts soar
The light fades away
You slip beneath the waves
Of my thoughts

The Wind Beneath My Wings-Sonata Arctica

We ran that long race
Together as it always should have been
Striding step by step, side by side
You ran with your light shinning about you
And I ran reveling in it's warmth
Standing beside you at the finish line
I raised you on my shoulders
Proud that my friend had won.

Sing in Silence-Sonata Arctica

She proclaimed the purity of the day
Was brought about by the calm rising of the sun
Nothing more, nothing less
There was no miracle here
A strong stance against the glory that is
She raised her fist to the sky
"He has forsaken me, so He must never have been!"

Flood-Jars of Clay

As the snow melted
To the throws of spring
A tiny sprout decided to come forth
To spy upon the yet white world
Early that morning she did rise
As she arose, the snow dropping
From the bows of the fir above
Would push her back

Still Loving You-Sonata Arctica

I remember it clearly
As though it were only yesterday
I stood next to you
In pure happiness
My heart full as we held hands.
A love that would endure
That would be our base within each other
Was it doomed before the start?
The pain still remains

Si Volvieras a Mi-Josh Groban

Gentle waves lap at the sand upon the shore
Rippling across each grain
Embracing every one in it's cool surrounding
A wave recedes leaving a kiss upon the land
And another rushes to leave it's mark upon the world
However brief it may last

In Memoriam-Hammerfall

Never holding back
To the fullest
That was your motto
This life wasn't meant to preserve
But to expire
And through your kindness
You took out into the world
Never afraid to speak your mind
Standing proud of all that you were
Only to be taken while giving
But you lived!

Windowpain-Opeth

Driving along the highway
Trees passing by
Houses holding memories of people
Towns haunted by their ghosts
I travel down this long road
Lonely in my musings
Pondering our existences
Well my existence
And the lack of their's
Has wrung my soul dry
Only the ghosts remain
The hauntings of my memory
Reality turned to things only found in fiction
Where am I?

The Answer is in the Question-Bob Seger

Another sun sets upon the earth
Another moon rises in the silence
Another love grows in an embrace
Another heart breaks somewhere in the darkness

Valencia-Placido Domingo

Tiny hopes of light fall upon a silent morning
The dew drops its refreshing glory onto the ground
Warming the earth the hope bursts forth
Greeting the soul of the singing robin
In the glade fluttering about bringing it's joy
As the trees soak in the entirety of the world

This was actually pretty fun...I think I shall do it again, and hopefully not get so many repeats from the same artist.  of the 2066 songs from the 100+ Artists of the music I own...Sonata Arctica sure liked to come up.

And I must apologize for my neglect of my Xanga site.  I has been...just really hard to write here.  I am not sure why.

To My Dear French Admirer

Greetings to France,

I noticed that 2 days ago you looked at my sight rather extensively.  I have to say I am rather intrigued about you.  Do I know you in real life?  Or are we friends who have yet to meet?  Please feel free to message me or leave a comment.  I would like to hear from you, rather than just see that you have looked at my sight.  Oh and please don't be frightened away by this at all.  I am just being friendly and reaching out.

Be well my French friend,

West

Angel

I have 3 poems going at the moment.  Well 2 are finished and 1 is just starting.  I will share only one of the finished ones right now.  The other is going to have to wait.

Angel

Walking through fields of moonlight
I come to the shore
Waves of starglow washing upon the sand
A figure imerges from the sea
Raidiant, yet veiled in shadow

Shadows lift, dark becomes light
Beams of raidiance burst forth
Upon my shuttering eyes
Bright and glowing
The light pierces my soul

Gently subsiding
The light gives forth
Exposing your beauty
Filling my heart
With intensity and passion

Your hair falling down
To perfectly frame your face
I look to your eyes
As they take me in
Drinking the very essence of me

Lost forever in your presence
I dine upon your laughter
And quaff down your love
You fill my heart, and I pray
That I may be the same to you

Ryhme time?

I usually don't do rhyme.  Actually I usually hate it, but as I awoke this morning and laid in bed trying to fall back asleep, I started thinking of this poem.  After a few lines, I had to get up and write it out.  And so, here is my 6:00am poem.

The Boy

In a land far away
Lived a boy who loved to play

From first light of day he would wake
And games imaginary he did make

Through great adventures he would roam
Whether he be a brute in a dungeon or a king on a throne

Fighting giants with his wooden sword
Even stopping for tea, but only when he was bored

Darting to and fro
Slaying foe after foe

Hiding in the secret place
When outside dinosaurs did traipse

He saved the princess from the evil witch
Bled beside soldiers fighting in the trench

Laying back on the grass he would look up to the sky
Watching clouds float and dream that he could fly

Playing all day long until dusk would fall
The porch light was turned on and mother would call

Supper was ready and it was time to come in
Falling asleep and dreaming of the day, to wake and do it over again

Updated

I finally updated my poetry book Volume I.  It is at 118 pages 12,993 words and 96 poems.  I really want to hit at least 150 pages, but 200 would be ideal, before I attempt to publish them.  I thought I would be further along in my writings...actually I thought I would have hit 150 pages back at the turn of 2007-2008, but life took over, and then I receeded from life...so things didn't go as planned.  Perhaps now I will finally get to finish.  Perhaps I can publish one book in my life...that would be a great accomplishment to me...even if no one ever read it, lol.
